Karla Gagnon Karla began her career as a land paramedic in Nova Scotia and moved to Ontario to follow her dream of becoming a flight paramedic. She worked in the Ontario system as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic for more than 20 years as a clinician and educator. She lives and works in Northern Ontario and currently manages a fixed wing base in Timmins that provides air ambulance services for many of communities without immediate access to acute care. She also works as an advocate for patients within the air ambulance system. Karla has more recently developed an interest in research and is currently enrolled in the LifTING and Sepsis Canada research training program with the goal of increasing her knowledge and creating diverse research connections. She has a particular interest in access to care and healthcare equity and hopes to continue to work towards improving care for those in the northern and remote regions of Ontario. |
